Following are the seas that surround the Arctic Ocean:
- Kara Sea is one of the seas surrounding Arctic Ocean. Kara Sea is on the coastal region of Russia and keeps the region cold all around the year. The Kara sea remains covered with ice during cold months and for few months it gets free from the ice. The area is famous for fishing and fishermen flock around the coastal regions for fishing business.
- Barents Sea touches the boundary of Finland, Norway and Russia. Shallow water of the sea is good for fishing and the southern part of the sea is not covered by the ice. Large varieties of fishes are found in the sea waters. Many people are engaged in the business for supplying fish for tourists.
- Laptev Sea touches the boundary of Siberian region. Many parts of the sea are covered with the ice all round the year. Sea is connected with Lena River which is quite popular port of the Siberian region. Laptev Sea influences the climatic condition of the Siberian region.
- Beaufort Sea is around the American continent. North American countries have long coastline and Beaufort Sea touches many parts of American countries. Canada coastal areas touch the Beaufort Sea and the water near the coast is shallow. The sea is quite deep in the middle and there is great diversity in sea life. Ice of the Sea gets melts during the month of summers.
- Canadian region and Alaskan region has great reserves of oil and natural gas. Beaufort Sea has great deposit of natural gas and oil. The pipeline has been laid under the sea and it is of prime importance for the American countries. Canadian government maintains the oil and gas factories and invests large amount of money for development and production of the company.
